NAAB accredits organisations offering services including certification, validation and verification, testing, inspection, calibration, proficiency testing provision, reference material production, imaging and physiological services against national and internationally recognised standards.
The standard that a conformity assessment body will need to comply with will depend on the type of service provided. For example, if an organisation provides testing or calibration services, they will comply with the requirements of the international standard for testing and calibration laboratories, ISO/IEC 17025. If an organisation provides inspection services, then the ISO/IEC 17020 standard for inspection bodies will apply.
